Travel back down Memory Lane to your favourite watering hole with the Hope History Club

Our Hope History Club officially launches on Wednesday 25th August, 2-4pm, on Zoom.

Inspired by a talk at a recent heritage network meeting about Inns on the Edge, a project about historic inns of Lincolnshire, we’ve decided that our first session is going to be about lost Lincolnshire watering holes.

We want to engage as many people as possible in these sessions and we reckon that most of you will have memories of public houses that have now disappeared from the local landscape. Whether you drank there, ate there, worked there, listened to music, or played for a pub sports team, we’d love to hear your stories. Tell us about your favourite drinks, top pub grub, local performers, sporting triumphs and disasters and memorable characters and events.

If pubs aren’t your thing, then we’re happy to widen out the definition of a watering hole to cafes, social clubs, night clubs and restaurants – we just want to hear your stories!

We’ve already gathered together a gallery of some lost public houses, which we’ll share at our first session to hopefully spark some memories, so please come and join us.

If you would like to receive the Zoom link to the Hope History Club, please click here to fill in our contact form. We will then send you the link a day or two before the session.
